American Mahjong:

American Mahjong is a tile-based game played with four players, aiming to be the first to match tiles to a specific hand on a score card. This is a variation of the Chinese game Mahjong, incorporating elements of strategy, skill, and luck. The game is played with a set of Mahjong tiles, and the goal is to be the first to form a winning hand as defined by the scorecard. Here, at the Seniors Centre, we play a friendly, informal game without the use of the score card.

 Riichi (Japanese) Mahjong:

Riichi Mahjong is a Japanese variant of the popular tile-based game Mahjong. It's a game played by four players, each trying to complete a hand of 14 tiles to score points against the others. Riichi Mahjong features unique rules and scoring systems, including the "Riichi" declaration, "Dora" bonus tiles, and "Yaku" hand combinations. Riichi Mahjong is a strategic and challenging game that requires understanding of tiles, hand combinations, and the scoring system.
