Sardis Senior's Activity Centre Society
Senior / Youth Mentor Carnival
Our final event for the school year with the current class of students
takes place on Thursday June 11. Preparation will start at 12:00pm;
the students will arrive at 1:15pm and the event runs until 2:15pm.
We will be playing carnival games such as Corn Hole, Ladder Toss
and Ring Toss. After we will serve hot-dogs, chips and water.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS for this event. Volunteers are urgently needed to prepare hot-dogs and to setup and run the games. If you are available to assist in any part of this event, please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. This is our last activity with the current class of students and our volunteers always remark how much fun they have at this event. So let's get together and make it a memorable experience.
Maker Time!
Acrylic Painting has been the calendar description but we have always
been friendly to arts and creative works of any kind. Accordingly have
changed our name to "Maker Time" and adjusted our starting time to
3:30pm on every tuesday.Recently we have been building plastic models
of all kinds. Aircrft models are ever popular among modellers both young
and old and that's what we've been doing lately. If you haven't built a kit
since the 1970s, now is a great time to get back into it. We have kits,
glue and tools available so all you'll need to supply is your enthusiasm.
Workshops!
Thanks to a generous gift from the Federal Government's "New Horizons" grant program, we have the resources necessary to offer a wide range of workshops heavily subsidized activity fees. Currently we are working on painting/drawing, singing, garening and cooking workshops. If you have an idea for a new workshop, drop us a line at our official email address: sardisseniors@shaw.ca
